Another great day out on the boat JFM of Portland with James and Fraser Mckendry. We started the day by steaming out to about half a mile from Portland and dropping the anchor. When we got to our destination I set up a conventional running Ledgur. We had frozen squid and mackerel on board. I used this to make a mackerel and squid cocktail to entice hopefully a cod. Unfortunately none of us caught a cod that day but there was pout caught, dog fish, pore cod and Conger Eel. I caught the 2 conger eel. One small one and one of 25 LB. My first catch of the year and my PB Conger !! Not what I what I was expecting but a fantastic catch. We lost 3 lots of tackle that day due to line snapping with a fish on. No idea what the fish was but must of been a fair size. Over all another great trip out! Video to follow!
